About James

James Brown has spent the past 20 years perfecting his skills as a world class magician, pick pocket and hypnotist.

A unique blend of sensory deception, sleight of hand and con artistry soon made James one of the most sought after performers for both close up and cabaret in the UK. In recognition, the world famous Magic Circle awarded him the title of The Best Close Up Magician in the UK, a trophy he is quietly very proud of.

His work life is divided between consulting, performing and corporate training and he spends whatever is left with his beautiful wife Jo and his two sons Ben and Charlie by the sea in the south of England.

Performer

Whether performing cabaret or intimate close up James blends the techniques of the magician, the hypnotist and the pickpocket into a mind blowing experience for all.

Unlike a traditional stage hypnotist James will never humiliate or offend but will take the audience on a sensational journey of discovery into the human mind.

“Even when James is improvising he is still 100% better than most of us offering our best work” Ian Rowland (Author of the Full Facts of Cold Reading)

Speaker

During 20 year of performance James has developed a unique set of skills. His understanding of confidence, audience management, proximity, suggestion and psychological manipulation have led him to consult at Imperial College London on the Surgical Simulation Programme as well as lecturing at prestigious hypnosis conferences and training seminars.

As an after dinner speaker James really is a breath of fresh air. The lecture covers aspects of James’ professional life and includes demonstrations and audience participation. Welcome into the mind of the magician, pickpocket and hypnotist, welcome the Professional Opportunist.
